07.11.10 – First Sunday Back
Well, this past week was a tremendous encouragement to all of those, from GBC, who attended the National Youth Congress at Temple Baptist Church & Crown College. The Lord blessed in a very great way.
Trip Update:
We arrived on Monday afternoon. After settling into the dorms we went to the new Titantic museum in the Pigeon Forge area. Tuesday we were at Dollywood for the majority of the day. Wednesday we were at Camp Moriah, owned by Temple Baptist Church.
Wednesday night was the kickoff service. Dr. Clarence Sexton preached a great message about Obadiah and the fear of the Lord.
On Thursday night, Dr. Mitch Campbell preached a well-needed message about “How to choose a mate that will stay on the ship.” This is so difficult for many teens in this day and age. If this decision is as important as we say it is, then please take time to track down this message and listen to it. In the message, Dr. Campbell addresses both the young men and the young women with practical thoughts.
On Friday night, John Bishop took the pulpit. What an encouragement to see this dear man whom God is using inspite of the handicaps he has developed.
Since We’ve Been Back:
Since we have been back, the Lord has blessed us. Today, one of the young ladies befriended a teen visitor. She applied something she learned in Scott Pauley’s session, and she won this teen visitor to the Lord. What is interesting and wondeful about the matter is that this young lady had prayed that God would allow her to lead her first convert to the Lord when she came back to town, following youth congress. God answered the prayer on Sunday morning! Praise Him!
A Must See:
When we were leaving the Youth Congress, we were given cards to fill out to write down what the Lord had done in our hearts during the week. We have posted this completed cards on the youth ministry room. Please drop by, see the pictures and see what the Lord did in the heart of the teens this past week!
07.08.10 – Thursday Morning Congress Update
On Wednesday, the teens and workers spent the day at Camp Moriah Christian Camp. The day involved many field games as well as swimming and a big water slide. It was a hot day, but all went very well.
In the evening we had our kickoff service with Dr. Sexton preaching about Obadiah out of I Kings 18 and the fear of the Lord. It was a great message that set the right tone for the rest of the week. Please continue to pray for all of the teens and workers as we begin breakout sessions today.

07.06.10 – Youth Congress Update
Well, Monday went by very fast, as did today (Tuesday). On Monday, we made our way down to Powell, TN. Upon arrival, we unloaded everything, and went to the new Titanic Museum.
On Tuesday, we left for our trip to Dollywood. The day was not as hot as we anticipated, but we were there from 10:00 AM until about 7:00 PM. After we returned to the Crown College Campus, the teens practice for the Youth Congress Choir.
Please continue to pray for for our safety and for the Lord to work in the hearts of the teens when the preaching begins on Wednesday.
Wednesday will begin with a field day at Camp Moriah and then the kickoff service at 7:00 in the evening.
Leaving Monday @ 10:00 AM

Youth Congress – Praise the Lord!
Just a quick word to praise God for those who gave sponsorships this past Sunday. We have received three, and we are still in need of more. Please pray how the Lord would lead you in helping to send teens to this great trip. See the prior post below for more information.
Franklin Ridge – Sunday, June 20th
There were just a few of us, but God still used us to be a blessing. The third Sunday of every month, the GBC Youth holds a service at the Franklin Ridge Nursing Home in Franklin, OH. It was Father’s Day which meant not all the teens could attend. In spite of this, the Lord blessed with our largest crowd, including some family members of the residents and a few workers. Praise the Lord! Thank you to Roxy Kendrick, Rachel Jackson, and Tommy Depew.
